The iSchools Capability Building Team (CapB) has scheduled a series of Computer and Internet Literacy Course (CILC) trainings to begin later this month.  The series will consist of three 3-day  CILCs, one each for Luzon Visayas and Mindanao. CILCs will teach would be trainers the basics of the Edubuntu Operating System and OpenOffice productivity tools.  They will also be briefed on the ICT for Basic Education (ICT4BE) Framework.

The series will kickoff in Baguio with host Benguet State University on February 16.  The team will then go the to Cebu on March 2.  The Cebu Normal University will host the Visayas leg.  The Davao Del Norte State College will host the final CILC in Davao, on March 9-12.

iSchools Project Manager Antonette Torres and eSkwela's Mel Tan will facilitate the Luzon and Mindanao CILCs.  The Department of Education's Dr. Lloyd Espiritu will handle the Visayas workshop.  

The iSchools Project conducts yearly CILC trainings as part of the ICT4BE program.

The ICT4BE is the Commission on Information and Communication Technology's answer to the call for ICT integration in basic education.
