The workshop is designed to help SUC Trainors teach income generating practices to Public High School recipients of the iSchools Wireless Internet Learning Laboratory (WILL). The workshop is designed to help SUC Trainors teach income generating practices to Public High School recipients of the iSchools Wireless Internet Learning Laboratory (WILL).The SUC Trainors are then expected to conduct SPW trainings to PHS recipients to help them come up with business models to generate income for the continuous operation of the WILL. According to Antonette Torres, iSchools Project Manager, PHS recipients incur additional expenses of up to P10,000.00 per month because of the WILL. Torres noted that this expense is not included in the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) of the PHS. To help augment the PHS fund, the SPW introduces business models using the WILL. Examples of business models include turning the WILLs into Community e-Centers after school hours. Resource persons for the workshop were former CICT Commissioner Emmanuel C. Lallana and iSchools Consultant Clement Rasul. Thirty-four people from 17 SUCs of the Luzon Cluster attended the workshop. This was the second SPW conducted this year. Last January 26, the Project conducted the first SPW in Aklan with host Aklan State University. With the completion of the SPW TOT series, the SUCs are expected to rollout the SPW training to Public High Schools later this year. |
